Your First Visit

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Massages are therapeutic and pampering. They heal the body and the spirit. Your first visit with medica begins to establish a trust relationship between you and the therapist. In anticipation of your visit, you may have a few questions.

  • What can I expect during my first visit?

Your comfort is our top priority. You can expect a tranquil, relaxing and comfortable environment for your massage session. All rooms have individual sound and lighting controls with the highest quality heated tables, covered in clean crisp linens.

Our friendly staff will welcome you and ask you to fill out a quick questionnaire regarding your medical history, past or present injuries, whether you are pregnant, or other physical conditions that we should be aware of before your session. We will also ask that you verify your COVID vaccination records. If you are booking online, please be aware certain services are not available for pregnant women, oncology patients, or those with certain medical conditions. If that is the case, please call us to book your service.

  • Will my sessions be personalized?

Yes, absolutely. You can expect your massage and healing session to be tailored to your needs. Our therapists will begin with a short consultation where we listen to you and come to understand your concerns and needs. We'll review your information, including current conditions that might affect treatment or if there is a specific area or challenge that you'd like us to focus. During future visits, our therapists will ask about any changes, further personalizing your experience with us.

  • What level of undress can I anticipate?

Your comfort is our priority, so you determine what is best for you. Removing your undergarments is not necessary. However, there may be cases when removing them will make it easier for the therapist to work and for you to enjoy the benefits of the massage.

  • Can I request a male or female therapist?

Yes, of course. You may want a male therapist if you desire a deep tissue massage. We find that many may prefer a woman for the more nurturing aspects of massage. This is a trend that is changing in the industry overall as clients associate more with the nurturing aspects of males.

  • What if I’m uncomfortable with the therapist touching certain parts of my body?

Your first visit at medica will start with an intake questionnaire that allows you to identify areas of the body that you give permission to the therapist to receive massage. Your therapist will confirm this information with you during their consultation with you.

  • Should I leave a thank you gratuity with the therapist?

Our therapists love what they do. They love being able to provide a healing massage to their clients. Gratuities should be heart felt. If you believe that you’ve received an exemplary massage and healing session, it’s appropriate to leave a gratuity with your therapist.

Your comfort is our top priority.
