WALKING UP TO AUTUMN SESSION
*** As summer begins to release its hold and the Earth turns toward Autumn, your Body begins making its own quiet transition. Your session at Medica changes with it.
Seasonal aromatherapy begins to deepen. Warm bamboo stones are introduced through the upper back, shoulders, and neck. Gentle somatic work invites greater freedom through the chest, breath, and cervical spine, while carefully chosen reflexology on foot Tsubos help to bring the Body back into a sense of grounding.
These aren't simply techniques added to a massage. They are pieces of a seasonal experience designed to help your Body move more comfortably with the natural rhythms surrounding it.
Beverly Changes Her Session with Every Changing Season
Beverly customizes her massage therapy sessions to reflect the changing seasons, ensuring that each treatment aligns with the unique energies and needs of the time.
As the seasons shift, so do her healing techniques. This allows her clients to experience treatments that support their physical, emotional, and Spiritual well-being in harmony with Nature.
By adjusting her approach, Beverly helps clients stay balanced and grounded. This promotes a deeper healing that flows naturally with the rhythms of the Earth.
SPRING: Beverly incorporates fresh, revitalizing scents like Peony and Orange Blossom to awaken the senses and promote renewal. A gentle lymphatic drainage massage helps to boost circulation and detoxification. Beverly’s Spring sessions help her clients transition from Winter to Spring vitality.
SUMMER: Cooling aromas and lotions are used during the massage sessions in Summer. This soothes overheated skin and reduces inflammation. Swedish massage and myofascial techniques are mixed together to reduce muscle tension that may be caused by being over-heated or by outdoor activities.
AUTUMN: Healing heated stones, subowkas, foot treatments, and releasing somatic techniques are just a part of Beverly’s session in Autumn. Warmer aromatherapy formulas invite
clients to ‘let go’ and drop the fast pace of Summer. Much how the trees drop their leaves in preparation for Winter, the formulas invite clients to do the same. Less energy is needed now. The fast pace of Summer is beginning to slow down a bit. Now all the energies are turned Within to begin a period of rest.
WINTER: In Winter, Beverly applies infrared heat to the torso during some sessions to increase the release of congestion in the major muscle groupings. Aromas are infused with warming oils of coffee, vanilla, tonka, sweet spices and sugar. Deeper pressure is used to release the built-up of tension and stiffness from the colder days and nights. Gua Sha, cupping, and/or dry brushing is sometimes offered to clear congestion by promoting lymphatic movement.
